Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What should I bring?

• Spectacles
• Contact lenses, boxes or packaging
• Details of solutions or drops used
• Optical prescription if available
• Medicare card and EFTPOS card for Easyclaim
• Health fund card
• Measurements of any specific viewing distances (e.g. computer)

How much does the health fund pay?

Should you require glasses or contact lenses your health fund may contribute towards the cost. Most health funds do not cover consultations or scans.

Rebates vary between the health funds so it is best to contact your fund directly for further information regarding specific amounts of cover. We use HICAPS to process your rebate on-the-spot so that you do not have to submit the claim yourself.

Do you Bulk Bill?

No. We are a private billing practice. Our fees reflect the quality of our service and technology.

Payment is required at the time of consultation and can be made by cash, credit card or EFTPOS.

How long does the eye exam take?

We recommend you allow one hour for your comprehensive eye exam.

Will I need to have my pupils dilated?

It may be necessary to dilate your pupils in order to see inside your eyes. If this is required, you will be informed prior to the drops being administered and have the opportunity to ask any questions.

Dilating eye drops may cause temporary softness of vision, increased sensitivity to light and inability to drive for several hours afterwards.
