2. How much does an eye exam cost?
Your vision is priceless. Capital Eye is where optometrists, specialists and doctors come to have their own eyes tested. See better and get the care you deserve.
Initial Consultation: $180
Your comprehensive eye consultation includes a 3D eye scan and is eligible for on-the-spot rebate with Medicare Easyclaim.
Subsequent Consultation:
Follow-up appointments range from $60 - $120 depending on the testing required.
Referred for Eye Scan:
You may have been referred by your optometrist for an eye scan. The fee for this service is $120.
Most health funds do not cover this test and there is no rebate from Medicare at this time.
3. How much does Medicare pay?
Medicare will reimburse either $28 or $56 for an initial consultation, depending on when you last had your eyes tested.
Save time with Medicare Easyclaim to process your refund immediately on-the-spot. An EFTPOS card is required as the system cannot refund onto a credit card.
4. How much does the health fund pay?
Should you require glasses or contact lenses your health fund may contribute towards the cost. Most health funds do not cover consultations or scans.
Rebates vary between the health funds so it is best to contact your fund directly for further information regarding specific amounts of cover. We use HICAPS to process your rebate on-the-spot so that you do not have to submit the claim yourself.
5. Do you Bulk Bill?
No. We are a private billing practice. Our fees reflect the quality of our service and technology.
Payment is required at the time of consultation and can be made by cash, credit card or EFTPOS.
6. How long does the eye exam take?
We recommend you allow one hour for your comprehensive eye exam.
7. Will I need to have my pupils dilated?
It may be necessary to dilate your pupils in order to see inside your eyes. If this is required, you will be informed prior to the drops being administered and have the opportunity to ask any questions.
Dilating eye drops may cause temporary softness of vision, increased sensitivity to light and inability to drive for several hours afterwards.
8. Rescheduling
